Education + curriculum development
YOU NEED TO TEACH SOMETHING. LET’S MAKE IT WORTH LEARNING.
How I think about curriculum
Good curriculum gives people a path.
Years of presenting to trainers across the country, and later working as curriculum development coordinator at 24 Hour Fitness, taught me that knowing the material is only part of the job.
People also need the right order, the right pacing, clear examples, and a way to use what they learned when the training is over.
That’s the part I focus on.
The goal is not to build a library of information. It’s to build a learning experience that helps someone understand what matters, move through it, and do something differently afterward.
What you get
From the first outline to a finished program.
I can help shape the curriculum, work with your subject-matter experts, produce the video, and deliver the pieces your LMS or platform needs.
Curriculum strategy
Who it’s for, what learners should understand or be able to do afterward, and what belongs in the program in the first place.
Instructional design
Module structure, sequence, pacing, assessments, exercises, and worksheets that turn information into something people can actually use.
Scripting with your experts
Your subject-matter experts bring the knowledge. I help organize it, draw out what matters, and turn it into scripts and lessons that work on camera.
Educational video production
From lean talking-head shoots to full studio production, including on-camera direction, teleprompter support, editing, graphics, and captions.
Continuing education support
Programs can be structured around continuing-education requirements when needed. The FitBiz Toolbox course currently carries 0.8 NASM and AFAA CEU.
Delivery + launch
Files prepared for your LMS, portal, or distribution platform, along with the pieces needed to get the program in front of the people it was built for.
Who it’s for
For organizations that need to teach something well.
- Certification + credentialing organizations Building a new program or rebuilding an existing one
- Brands Training employees, trainers, sales teams, customers, or retail partners
- Multi-location companies Creating consistent onboarding, sales, or operational training across locations
- Experts + educators Turning expertise into a structured course or certification
- Education + edtech companies Adding curriculum, scripting, or production capacity to an existing team
How it works
Build the learning first. Then build the course.
Some programs are small and focused. Others require dozens of modules, multiple experts, a larger production team, and a full studio. The process scales around what the program actually needs.
- 01
Discovery
We define the learner, the objective, and what should be different when the program is over.
- 02
Architecture
The module map, sequence, assessments, and learning flow get built before production begins.
- 03
Scripting
I work with your experts to turn what they know into clear lessons, examples, and scripts that can actually be taught.
- 04
Production
Lean video production when that’s enough. Full studio, DP, crew, and additional production support when the content calls for it.
- 05
Post + delivery
Editing, graphics, captions, worksheets, assessments, and the final files your platform needs.
The difference
I build the teaching and the production together.
Curriculum development, scripting, subject-matter expertise, and video production are often treated as separate parts of the process. I can work across all of them.
That means the structure, the script, the presenter, and the production can all be developed around the same learning objective from the start.

FAQ
A few things people usually want to know.
Can you build the curriculum as well as produce the course?
Yes. Rick works on both the instructional side and the production side, including curriculum structure, lesson flow, scripting, subject-matter expert collaboration, video production, and delivery.
Do I need to already have all of the course content written?
No. Rick can start with existing material, subject-matter expertise, or even a broad learning objective and help organize it into a clear instructional path.
Can you work with our subject-matter experts?
Yes. A large part of curriculum development is turning expert knowledge into material other people can actually learn and use. Rick can work directly with internal experts to shape lessons, scripts, examples, and supporting content.
What kinds of training programs have you built?
Rick has developed certification, continuing education, business education, sales training, and other professional learning programs. His curriculum work has trained more than 30,000 fitness professionals, and FitBiz Toolbox education has been distributed through more than 80 gym brands.
Can you help with continuing education approval?
Yes, when continuing education is part of the project. Rick has developed fitness-industry education that has carried continuing education credit and can help organize the curriculum and supporting material around those requirements.
